4 Reasons to Build in Western Sydney

Best Home Builder 2018 and 2019

Sydneysiders tend to have a bit of an obsession with living as close to the coast as possible.

Not that it’s hard to understand why. After all, we have some of the best beaches in the world. We also seem to have a bit of a cultural cringe about anything more than 20 kilometres west of the city centre. In fact, there’s been a tendency to think that culture stops at Newtown.

Of course, nothing could be further from the truth. The so-called million dollar suburbs near the city may have jobs, entertainment and lifestyle – but so do we. We also have the added benefit of the space and affordability to build beautiful new homes that are perfect for entertaining friends and family.

Governments of all levels are investing billions of dollars where most of us live – Sydney’s western and south-western suburbs.

We don’t just have the infrastructure either. Western Sydney is the place to be when it comes to culture, lifestyle and jobs. Not to mention homes that are great value for money.

Here are our top 4 reasons for loving Western Sydney Living:

  1. Suburbs designed for lifestyle
  2. Infrastructure and investment
  3. Access, Culture and Community
  4. Great value for money

Suburbs designed for lifestyle

You can breathe out here in the west. You may not know this but Western Sydney land developments focus heavily on lifestyle. Visit any new land release and you’ll find huge swathes of landscaped parklands, rambling walking tracks and even fitness stations to encourage people to live a healthier life.

On top of that, land comes in a range of sizes designed to allow buyers real choice. Families can enjoy anything from courtyard living, perfect for entertaining but low on maintenance, through to the great Australian backyard with room for trampolines and summers spent running through sprinklers. There are even rural and semi-rural acreage lots, rambling acreage estates and exclusive gated communities.

It’s true, we don’t have the ocean. What we do have is mighty rivers and lakes, bushland and greenery aplenty. Who needs a concrete jungle when you can look out the window or sit on your deck and take in all the glory of Mother Nature?

Most people only need to walk, drive or cycle a short distance to enjoy Western Sydney’s beautiful reserves and waterways and there is something for everyone. Whether it’s a weekend picnic with that special someone, hours in the park with the kids, a relaxing stroll by the river, a hike through nature or even a swim or kayak in a lake the options are truly endless.

Infrastructure and investment

It’s true that Western Sydney’s transport and infrastructure was appalling to non-existent in the past. Not anymore. Western Sydney councils (and the State Government) have listened to our demands for better services. The Westconnex and Northconnex projects are linking our major motorways, making it faster and easier to get around the city by car or bus. The long-awaited North-West Rail Link is bringing trains to fast-growing communities such as Kellyville and Rouse Hill. Then there’s the new light rail networks, wider roads, cycling lanes, improved public transport and even a commercial airport at Badgerys Creek.

There is no better time to build in Macarthur than now, with many key infrastructure upgrades being proposed and/or are currently under construction.

These include road and rail upgrades, and plans for schools, hospitals, open spaces, and education and community facilities. We are excited about what is to come, but we believe there is plenty of scope for opportunity

Government Calls For More Homes To Be Built In Western Sydney

Councils aren’t just focused on roads and transport though. There has also been significant investment in world-class sporting facilities, particularly in new estates, where developers are required to provide ovals, recreation and play areas for the community.

It’s the little things too, like street parking with no time limits in residential areas and abundant parking at local shops and sporting venues. Families also appreciate lower crime rates and less congestion, which makes it safer for kids to catch the bus to school or ride bikes outside of an evening.

Access, Culture and Community

We also want to shoot down the myth that you have to go to the city if you want the best in shopping, education, culture and entertainment.

These days, new estates have everything that families need as soon as they move in. Shopping centres and schools are planned and built during the early stages of land releases. This means many home owners have incredible convenience just around the corner with brand new, state-of-the-art schools and big chain shopping centres within easy reach.

But it’s not just convenient grocery shopping. Western Sydney boasts many of the largest shopping complexes in NSW and major retailers prioritise Western Sydney as prime real estate. With so many companies responding to demand for premium brands and products, shoppers are spoiled for choice.

Businesses, including major national and international organisations, have also seen the benefits of relocating closer to their workforce. We’re not just talking manufacturing either. Some of Australia’s best and brightest choose to enjoy the open space, healthy lifestyle and affordable housing prices of western Sydney. With talented employees and executives in higher demand than ever, the companies that need their technical and professional skills have seen the benefits of moving west. Many major multinational companies have operations in Greater Western Sydney, including BHP Billiton, Coca-Cola Amatil, Qantas, Sony and Canon.

And let’s not forget our world-class universities and high schools that regularly produce NSW’ top HSC results.

It’s not all work and no play either. Local councils are also prioritising community, culture and entertainment. Many boast a host of festivals and activities throughout the year that attract not only local families, but visitors from across the country and even overseas.

Great value for money

Now, if all of the other reasons aren’t enough, then consider the value for money that Western Sydney offers. New release estates have land from about $1000 a square metre. That means it’s possible to buy a block for a reasonable price, add a beautiful, brand new home and enjoy the comfort and serenity of beautiful western Sydney.

The Macarthur region offers more affordable options for families who have been priced out of the metropolitan areas. For under the median home value, buyers can secure a substantial block of land to build a free-standing home. Buyers are, therefore, getting more bang for their buck when they buy in south-west Sydney.

Not only are families getting better lifestyle, they’re also getting larger, more luxurious and modern homes for much less. In fact, in most cases, you can build the home of your dreams for less than the NSW median house price.

And when we say dream home, we’re talking about homes like the stunning Hamptons home featuring:

4 Bedrooms | 3 Bathrooms | 3 Living rooms | State of the art connectivity | Alfresco entertaining area
